Course Cancellation and Refund Policy

All Course sales are final, and no refunds are offered for any cancellations or missed classes. However, if you unable to attend a purchased course due to condition beyond your control and let GGC know at least 48 hours before the class, your registration can be used for the same course within 60 days. If a participant neglects to show for their scheduled course and does not inform instructor, they are subject to no rescheduling period.. If you do not reschedule your class within 60 Days, no refund option is available. Policy subject to change without notice. Empowering Women Fundamentals @ Governors Gun Club Powder Springs
Sep 2 @ 12:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Here at Governors Gun Club we love for our women to feel comfortable and empowered while holding using their firearms for target practice or self-defense. This class will be taught by women, to women, in the hopes to to allow a common view of learning for all the basic knowledge and get as comfortable as possible with a firearm.

In this class women will learn the 4 universal rules of firearm safety as well as the responsibilities of a firearm owner and the 5 fundamentals of shooting.

These women will also learn the difference in semi-automatic handguns and revolvers as well as many other firearms so our women will find which firearms is most compatible to their needs. There will be a basic understand of ammunition and what happens when a firearm is fired as well as understanding and working through the different malfunctions of your firearm.

There will be extensive knowledge given in this course and on the range during this time. Don’t miss out!

Instructors

Josette Chmiel

Josette, a native New Yorker, grew up in a very firearm friendly environment from a young age. As an adolescent, Josette grew up in an environment where firearm safety and education was encouraged.

For 10 years, she has been actively involved in our 2A rights.  As a volunteer and current board member of Grass Roots NC, she works the front lines defending our 2A rights.

Josette continues to hone her own firearm skills with various trainers and strong focus on training women in self-empowerment thru self-protection. She has been teaching and writing her own successful curriculum for the past 6 years, including her newly launched 4-part Empowering Women Series.  Josette is very passionate about her students learning the necessary means to protect themselves, covering grounds from less lethal forms of self-defense to embracing new shooters and assisting those interested in stepping out into competitions.

Her current teaching certifications include NRA Basic Pistol, NRA Inside & Outside the Home Protection, Chief Range Safety Officer. She is also qualified to teach the NC Concealed Carry Class.

Jordan Monroe

Jordan Monroe is a 6 year Marine Corps Veteran. As an Infantryman he served one deployment to Afghanistan, one deployment to Japan and another deployment on ship. He enjoys shooting all types of guns including handguns and rifles. He is a 4 times rifle expert qualification in the USMC and 1 time sharpshooter in pistol qualification. He enjoys teaching handgun and rifle fundamentals to newer and less experienced shooters.

Holster Draw & Rapid Fire @ Governors Gun Club Kennesaw

This course requires prerequisite for attendance. Please make sure you have successfully completed our fundamentals and intermediate courses to qualify for advancement

Prerequisites :

  1. Co-Ed Handgun Fundamentals OR Empowering Women Fundamentals 

2. Skills & Drills Fundamentals

3. Co-Ed Handgun Intermediate OR Empowering Women Intermediate

4. Skills & Drills Intermediate 

 

This course will cover the advancement of safely drawing a handgun from a hip holster, or thigh holster from the strong side (weapon firing side). Then go into presenting the handgun towards the target and firing in a rapid fire manner.

Rapid fire for this purpose and use on the Governors Gun Club Range is defined as one shot per second. Successful completion of this course will meet the requirements necessary to draw from a holster and fire when on the GGC Range. This class WILL NOT be designed to teach anyone fast draw techniques.

Equipment needed: Handgun, holster, 50 rounds of ammo, eye and ear protection. All holsters will be inspected by the instructor for safety and security. Ie… the holster must hold the gun securely where it cannot fall out.

For safety reasons there will be no cross draw, shoulder or behind the back holsters allowed in the class.

ONLY 8 SPOTS AVAILABLE. 

Instructor: Jeff Cain

Jeff has many years of public service: serving in the US Air Force, Texas State Guard Medical Brigade, Shelby County (TN) Sheriff’s Office and local agencies. He has served as an EMT, Search and Rescue team member, protection & SAR dog trainer, armed security and instructor for multiple disciplines.

Jeff is NRA certified to teach Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, Personal Protection in The Home, Personal Protection Outside the Home, and Range Safety Officer. He constantly takes new courses to reinforce existing skills and to add new skills to his repertoire.

Jeff’s teaching philosophy revolves around teaching simple, memorable and repeatable skills that can be recalled and applied during stressful situations. Your safety is his number one priority.
